Shah Rukh Khan buys team in Caribbean Premier League

Shah Rukh Khan is making his love for Twenty-20 cricket more and more obvious.

Shah Rukh KhanAfter owning champion Indian Premier League franchise Kolkata Knight Riders, the Bollywood superstar has put his money in the Caribbean Premier League, a potential money-spinner.

SRK's company, Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt Ltd, along with KKR co-owners Juhi Chawla and her husband Jay Mehta have together invested in the Trinidad & Tobago franchise.

Khan is the first owner of an Indian Premier League team to have stake in an overseas cricket franchise.

The Caribbean Premier League has other glamorous names, like Hollywood stars Mark Wahlberg and Gerard Butler. Wahlberg owns the Kieron Pollard-led Barbados Tridents, while Butler owns Jamaica Tallawahs, captained by Chris Gayle.

Barbados Tridents will kick-off its title defence against Guyana Amazon Warriors at home at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown on June 20.

The month-long tournament runs from June 20 to July 26.
