Pakistani selectors have recalled fast bowler Mohammad Sami for the third and final Test against the West Indies starting on Monday in Karachi.

Sami has produced a string of good performances at domestic level after a miserable tour of England this year when he took just eight wickets in three Tests, averaging 58.25.

The 25-year-old, who has taken 73 wickets in 28 Tests and another 109 one-day wickets, is the only change in the Pakistan squad. He replaces left arm spinner Abdul Rehman.

Pakistan lead the three-match series 1-0 after a nine-wickets win in the first Test and a draw in the second which ended earlier on Thursday.

Pakistan's bowling coach Waqar Younis said: "After the bans on Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif, the reserve bowlers have done very well, especially Umar Gul. But I am looking for some pace to add value to our attack."

Sami is rated as the fastest bowler in Pakistan after Akhtar who has been banned for two years for a doping offence. Asif has been banned for one year.

Squad: Inzamam-ul-Haq (captain), Imran Farhat, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Yousuf, Younis Khan, Yasir Hameed, Kamran Akmal, Shoaib Malik, Abdul Razzaq, Faisal Iqbal, Umar Gul, Shahid Nazir, Samiullah Niazi, Mohammad Sami, Danish Kaneria.
