Sachin Tendulkar ushered in his 37th birthday in the company of his wife Anjali, Mumbai Indians IPL franchise owners Mukesh and Nita Ambani and his team mates at a private function in Mumbai on Friday night.
"The entire Mumbai Indians team was present at the private cake-cutting and dinner event at the small party. Mr Mukesh and Mrs Nita Ambani and his wife were also present. Everyone wished him well," team sources said.
The party lasted till half past midnight, they said.
The Mumbai captain is however a doubtful starter for Sunday's Indian Premier League final against Mahendra Singh Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings after splitting a webbing in his right hand while fielding in the semi-final against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
"The team will take a call on his availability later this evening but it would not be revealed," the sources indicated.
