Former Indian stumper Syed Saba Karim will be the new coach of the Orissa Ranji trophy team for the upcoming season, the Orissa State Cricket Association said.
Karim would be arriving in Cuttack on Saturday, OCA Secretary Ashirbad Behera informed.
After having hired the services of former test bowler Balwinder Singh Sandhu in 2003, the OCA had reverted back to Orissa's former Captain and coach Asjit Jayaprakasham last year.
Orissa has been languishing in the plate group for the last three years.
Karim played for Bihar and Bengal before getting being called for the national team.
