December 03, 2010 18:19 IST

Former national selector and first class cricketer Ranjib Biswal has been appointed as the manager of the Indian cricket team for the upcoming tour of South Africa starting December 16.

Incidentally, it is for the fourth time Biswal, a former India Under-19 captain, will be managing the Indian team out of the country.

Biswal was the manager of the Indian team in the Twenty20 World Cup in May and also held the position during the Sri Lanka tour and the Asia Cup earlier this year.

Biswal is presently the president of Orissa Cricket Association and has also represented the state in first class cricket.

India will tour South Africa for three Tests, five ODIs and one-off Twenty20 match.
