Mumbai too good for Saurashtra

An all-round performance by Sairaj Bahutule and fine knocks by Robin Morris and Nishit Shetty propelled Mumbai to a 136-run victory over Saurashtra in the West Zone Ranji Trophy one-day match at the Deccan Gymkhana in Pune on Monday.

Electing to bat, Mumbai scored 320 for seven in their alloted 50 overs, with opening batsman Morris scoring 76 (4x9, 6x1). He was well-supported by middle order bat Nishit Shetty, who made 64 (6x1, 4x9). Sairaj Bahutule (46 not out), Vinayak Mane (38), Ramesh Powar and Manish Bangera (both 26), were the other main contributors.

For Saurashtra, Birju Pathak took three wickets while Jolly Jobanputra, Rakesh Dhruva and Bambhania claimed one
each.

In reply, Saurashtra were bundled out at 184, with Prakash Bhatt (35) emerging the top scorer. Altaf Merchant scored 24, Jolly Jobanputra 29 and Rakesh Dhruva 22 runs.

For Mumbai, Sairaj Bahutule claimed four wickets.
