Vidarbha Cricket Association humbled Rajasthan Cricket Association team by 63 runs pocketing a bonus point (4+1) in the Central Zone Ranji trophy one-day match at Daly College ground in Indore on Sunday.

VCA restricted RCA to 183 for eight on their way to chasing the target of 246.

Electing to bat, VCA had a shaky start with opener Faiz Fazal shown the door on the very first ball of the match by Sumit Mathur.

Amit Deshpande (33, 3x4) and Alind Naidu (45, 4x4) partnered to add 80 runs for the second wicket giving some stability to their side.

Ranjeet Paradkar (36, 4x2) and Sameer Khare (58, 4x4) also added 93 runs for the fourth wicket and played crucial roles in guiding their VCA to the respectable total.

For RCA, Anup Dave claimed four wickets and Mathur scalped three. Wicket-keeper Rohit Jhalani stumped two, caught behind one and run out another to wrap up VCA in 49.1 overs.

In reply, Rajasthan too suffered early blows losing four wickets in space of 12 overs at the score of 39 runs.

Except a 70-run partnership between Vinod Chanwaria (59, 4x4) and Ranjeet Singh (31), no other RCA batsman contributed much and wickets fell in quick succession.

Poor running between the wickets also cost RCA dearly as it lost three wickets following two straight throw from VCA skipper Pritam Gandhe and another from Rupesh Shahane.
