Ishank Jaggi smashed an unbeaten double hundred as Jharkhand pummelled Hyderabad's bowling to declare at 556 for nine before reducing the visiting side to 55 for one on the second day of their Ranji Trophy Group C cricket match in Ranchi.
Overnight 295 for four, the home team rode Jaggi's 342-ball 201 to post the mammoth score, in which Kaushal Singh's 69 was another notable contribution today. On Wednesday, Saurabh Tiwary had laid a strong foundation for the team with his 192-ball 100.
Jaggi's double ton was laced with 13 fours and a six, while Kaushal struck seven fours and a six during his 132-ball stay at the crease.
For Hyderabad, Akash Bhandari was the pick of the bowlers with figures of four for 136 in 40.2 overs.
In reply, Akshath Reddy (20) and Hanuma Vihari (23) were holding fort for tourists after opener Tanmay Agarwal's early dismissal. He contributed just 6 runs to the total before falling to pacer Varun Aaron.

Gambhir, Sehwag hit half-centuries as Delhi take charge
Pune: Gautam Gambhir (93) and Virender Sehwag (66) produced a 102-run partnership as Delhi reached 240-4 in reply to Maharashtra's first innings score of 330 on the second day of their Group B Ranji Trophy match.
Opening the innings, Gambhir cracked seven boundaries and one six in his unbeaten 217-ball innings, while Sehwag hit seven fours in his 88-ball stay to anchor the Delhi innings after they were reduced to 41-2 in the 19th over.
At the draw of stumps, Rajat Bhatia (43) was giving company to Gambhir at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium with Delhi still trailing by 90 runs with 6 wickets remaining in their first innings.
Resuming their innings at 312-6, Maharashtra could only add 18 runs more to the overnight score in just over eight overs as Delhi pacers Sumit Narwal and Parvinder Awana polished off the tail, scalping two wickets each in the opening session.
In reply, Delhi had a shaky start as their opener Unmukt Chand (1) was dismissed in the second over by Anupam Sanklecha, caught by Domnic Joseph.
Gambhir and first down batsman Manan Sharma then tried to weather the storm and stitched 40 runs in 16.5 overs before Joseph claimed the latter's wicket as Delhi slipped to 41-2.
Sehwag then walked in and the former Indian duo dug their heels, taking Delhi across the 100-mark. Sehwag was dismissed in the 46th over when he was trapped in front of wicket by spinner Khurana.
Next batsman, Mithun Manhas (6) lasted only nine balls before he was cleaned up by Samad Fallah.

Chahar shines, Rajasthan dominates Odisha on day 2
Balangir: Deepak Chahar impressed with both bat and ball, cracking a pacy unbeaten fifty before snapping three wickets to help Rajasthan reduce Odisha to 144-9 on the second day of their Group B Ranji Trophy match.
Resuming their first innings at 191/5, Rajasthan rode on a 57-run unbeaten innings by lower-order batsman Chahar to reach 305 all out in 115.3 overs.
Chahar (3/30) then combined with fellow pacer Pankaj Singh (4/47) to share seven wickets between them and take Rajasthan within touching distance of grabbing the crucial first innings lead.
Tail-enders Deepak Behera (17) and Dhiraj Singh (0) were at the crease at the draw of stumps with Odisha still needing an improbable 161 runs with just one wicket remaining.
Earlier, Chahar blasted three boundaries and six sixes in his 55-ball stay after coming to the crease at the fall of overnight batsman Chetan Bist (51) and newman Tanveer-Ul-Haq (3).
Bist was dismissed only in the second over in the morning by Suryakant Pradhan, while Tanveer was sent packing by Basant Mohanty at the Gandhi Stadium.
Other overnight batsman, Vineet Saxena completed his century before becoming the last victim of Mohanty, who emerged as the highest wicket-taker with a four-wicket haul.
Anurag Sarangi (47) was the highest scorer for Odisha but the hosts could not stitch partnerships in the face of some good bowling by pace duo of Singh and Chahar.
While Pankaj dismissed Natraj Behera (12), Sarangi, BB Samantray (11) and SB Pradhan (4), Chahar picked up the wickets of skipper Abhilash Mallick (1), GB Poddder (4) and Mohanty (0).
Tanveer-Ul-Haq (1/24) and Aniket Choudhary (1/20) snapped one wicket each for Rajasthan.

Makvana six-for puts Saurashtra in control
Rajkot: Off-spinner Kamlesh Makvana bagged six wickets to give Saurashtra the advantage against Haryana on the second day of the Group B Ranji Trophy match.
Trying to check Haryana's response to their first innings score of 238 in the four-day encounter at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Makvana spun a web to bag his 11th first-class five-wicket haul and bundle out the visitors for 226.
Building on the slim 12-run lead, the Jaydev Shah-led side finished the day on 162 for three, stretching their second-innings lead to 174.
In-form Sheldon Jackson and Shah stroked delightful half-centuries to be unbeaten on 56 and 55 respectively.
The duo has stitched together an unbeaten 93-run fourth-wicket stand to frustrate the Haryana bowlers.
In a dominating display of batting, Shah has hit 6 fours and a six in his 86-ball knock so far while Jackson's watchful innings has been laced with 2 fours and a six.
Earlier starting on their overnight score of 74 for three, the Sunny Singh-led Haryana slipped further to 98 for five before a 93-run sixth-wicket partnership between Jayant Yadav (97), who had picked seven wickets in the first innings, and wicketkeeper-batsman Nitin Saini (45) brought some respectability to the innings.
But Makvana (6-87), who got the two dangermen – Jayant and Saini - back in the pavilion, and left-arm spinner Dharmendrasinh Jadeja (4-80) combined well to give the hosts a vital lead.

TN on course for an outright win against Mumbai
Chennai: Tamil Nadu are set for another facile victory as 40-time Ranji Trophy Champions Mumbai's chances of knock-out qualifications is likely to end with another shoddy performance in the Ranji Trophy match.
After bowling out Mumbai for a paltry 141 in the first innings, Tamil Nadu posted a healthy 417 in their first innings with help of Baba Indrajith's maiden first-class ton in his 10th match.
Indrajith coming in at No 8 scored 101 off 162 balls with the help of 11 boundaries and a six as Tamil Nadu gained a mammoth 276 runs first innings lead.
At stumps, Mumbai were 12 for one needing another 264 runs to avoid innings defeat with two days to fight it out on a track which certainly improved after the first day when left-arm spinner Rahil Shah ended with career-best figures of 7 for 34.

Wakhare’s six wickets haul leaves the match in balance
Surat: Off-spinner Akshay Wakhare took six wickets but Gujarat managed to sneak a 12-run first-innings lead over Vidarbha on the second day of their Ranji Trophy cricket.
Gujarat were 71 for 1 at one stage but Wakhare took five wickets to reduce the home side to 158 for 7 before Manpreet Juneja made 75 to push the total to just short of 250.
Juneja struck 12 fours and was last man out, becoming Rakesh Dhurv's third victim. He and Rush Kalaria (32) added 65 for the eighth wicket.
Wakhare finished with superb figures of 6/92.
In their second innings, Vidarbha were 39 for 1 from 11 overs.
Vidarbha lost Sachin Katariya early before Faiz Fazal (20 batting) and Ganesh Satish (11 batting) took them to 39 for 1 at the draw of stumps.
Vidarbha now lead by 27 runs with nine second innings wickets in hand.

Rain washes off Day 2 play of Railways vs J&K
New Delhi: Ranji Trophy Group A cricket match between Railways and Jammu and Kashmir ended without a ball being bowled due to persistent rain.
Put into bat, Railways were 50/1 in 23 overs on Wednesday.
No play possible in Dharamsala
Dharamsala: The second day's play in the Ranji Trophy Group C cricket match between Himachal Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh ended without a ball being bowled due to persistent rain.
Put into bat, Andhra were 123/2 in 34 overs.
