India discard Ajay Jadeja emerged as the highest run getter in the just concluded 2005-06 Ranji Trophy.
Playing in the Plate division for Rajasthan, the right hander aggregated 684 runs in 7 matches at 97.71. While Mumbai's Ramesh Powar was the leading wicket taker with 42 wickets in the tournament.
Eighty-five matches were played in the Championship, out of which 45 produced results.
Uttar Pradesh and Bengal qualified for the final of the Elite division, which the former won on the basis of the first innings lead. It was Uttar Pradesh's maiden Ranji Trophy title.
In the Plate final, Saurashtra emerged triumphant, scoring an innings victory over Rajasthan.
