Sustaining their superb run of form, domestic giants Mumbai today crushed Maharashtra by an innings and 154 runs to book their place in the semi-finals of the Ranji Trophy Super League.

Resuming at 148 for six in their second innings, Maharashtra provided little resistance as they folded for 171 in just 35 minutes on the fourth and final day.

Mumbai (15 points) not only accumulated maximum five points from this match but also recorded their third consecutive outright win, following victories over Gujarat and Rajasthan in their previous matches.

"I am very happy with my team's performance as in the opening three matches we had failed to gain any points but after our third consecutive victory, we have now 15 points and have qualified for the semi-finals," Mumbai captain Amol Muzumdar told reporters.
