In a strong reply to Hyderabad's first innings total of 389, Rajasthan scored 122 for 2 at stumps on the second day of the Elite 'B' Ranji Trophy match being played at Hyderabad Gymkhana grounds.
When the hosts resumed the innings at 323 for seven, overnight batsman Mohammad Fiaz Ahmed waded through the innings despite losing partners at the other end to score 65 with seven hits to the fence as Hyderabad were dismissed for 389 just before lunch.
Speedster Sumeet Mathur was the most impressive bowler for Rajasthan claiming five for 124.
Rajasthan reply started on a strong note with openers Vineet Saxena and Abhijeet Sharma adding 65 runs for the first wicket before Sharma was foxed by spinner V Raju for 37.
Nikhil Doru, who joined Vineet, had no difficulty in negotiating Hyderabad bowlers on a chilly day and the duo put on 52 for the second wicket. Doru was run out at the fag end of the day to a direct throw by Shivaji Yadav from gully for 22.
Opener Vineet on 50 was at the crease along with Gagan Khoda who was yet to open his account at stumps.
