Ranji Group C: Himachal score 338 against Goa

Himachal Pradesh's lower-order batted resolutely and helped the side put on 338 in their first innings against hosts Goa on the second day of the Group C Ranji Trophy match at the PCA ground in Porvorim on Sunday.

At the draw of stumps, Goa were 118 for one in their first innings with opener Swapnil Asnodkar and Amogh Desai batting on 64 and 31, respectively.

Resuming the day from 210 for five, Himachal added another 128 runs thanks to the eighth wicket stand of 86 runs between Karanveer Singh and Rahul Singh.

Karanveer scored an unbeaten 39 while Rahul made 47.

For Goa, debutante Gaurish Gawas was the most successful bowler, claiming four wickets for 109 runs, while Shadab Jakati took three for 78.

Kerala eye big first-innings lead against Tripura

Centurion Rohan Prem and Unnikrishnan Manukrishnan were the stars of the day as Kerala took control of their match against Tripura in Agartala.

Prem scored 170 off 364 balls while left-arm medium pacer Manukrishnan picked four for 20 as Kerala, after posting 400 in their first innings, reduced the hosts to 55 for four at the Maharaja Bir Bikram College Stadium.

Resuming on 275 for five, Kerala rode on Prem's knock, which contained 20 fours, to make a big total.

Tripura trailed the hosts by another 345 runs with six wickets remaining.

Kerala 1st innings: 400 all out in 131.1 overs (Rohan Prem 170; Timir Chanda 4/77, Manisankar Murasingh 3/79)
Tripura 1st innings: 55/4 in 31 overs (Unnikrishnan Manukrishnan 4/20).
