The second day's play of the second Test match between India and South Africa in Bengaluru, on Sunday, was called off without a ball being bowled because of rain.
Following a light drizzle in the morning, the start of play was pushed back to 1030 IST but before the teams could get back onto the field at the M Chinnaswamy stadium, the heavens opened up again.

It rained right through the day forcing the groundstaff to cover the pitch and surrounding areas before the on-field umpires Ian Gould and Richard Kettleborough decided to call off play at 1400 IST.
Weather permitting, the match is scheduled to start at 0915 IST on Monday.
However, the weather forecast is not encouraging for the remaining three days and more rain could be in store.

India dominated the opening day as South Africa were bowled out for 214 in 59 overs with Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja grabbing four wickets apiece.
AB de Villiers, playing in his 100th Test match, top scored for the visitors with a fluent innings of 85. In reply, India progressed steadily to reach 80 for no loss at close of play, with Shikhar Dhawan stroking his way to 45 while Murali Vijay was unbeaten on 28.
