'No rift in Indian dressing room, Bangladesh just played better cricket'

Dismissing reports of a rift in the Indian dressing room after their first-ever One-Day International series loss to Bangladesh, former India captain Sourav Ganguly said such talk is normal when a team loses.

"Whenever India lose, this question crops up. I am sure everything is fine in the Indian dressing room," Ganguly told reporters in Kolkata on Thursday.

However, he termed the 1-2 series loss disappointing.

"Bangladesh played better cricket and we should give credit to them," he said.

India vice-captain Virat Kohli's comments on "doubtful decision-making" raised speculation of a troubled dressing room, even as Chennai Super Kings duo Ravichandran Ashwin and Suresh Raina vouched for limited-overs' skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Ganguly also welcomed Dhoni's batting elevation to No. 4, as he scored 47 in the second ODI and 69 as India won the third match on Wednesday.

"Dhoni batting at No. 4 is good news for the Indian team. This allows him to bat for a longer period. Let’s see how long can he bat at No. 4."

He rubbished a media report, which claimed that the Supreme Court-appointed Justice Lodha Committee found Board of Control for Cricket in India president Jagmohan Dalmiya speech’s "incoherent and incomprehensible" and questioned who's running the show at the richest cricket body.

"Everything is fine with our president," Ganguly declared.
