# Bangladesh's triumph by 79 runs is their joint-second biggest in terms of runs against the top eight sides in ODIs next only to the 160-run triumph over West Indies at Khulna on December 2, 2012. (Bangladesh had won by 79 runs against Pakistan at Mirpur on April 17, 2015).

# Bangladesh have defeated India in an ODI at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur for the second time.

# Bangladesh had beaten India by five wickets at the same venue on March 16, 2012. In all, Bangladesh have defeated India four on four occasions - the other two venues being Bangabandhu National Stadium, Dhaka on December 26, 2004 and Port of Spain on March 17, 2007.

# Bangladesh have lost seven out of nine ODIs against India while recording 250 or more in ODIs.

# Mustafizur Rahman (5/50) became the second Bangladeshi bowler to record a five-wicket haul on debut. Taskin Ahmed had taken five for 28 in a losing cause vs India at Mirpur on June 17, 2014.

# Overall, ten bowlers have registered five-wicket hauls on ODI debut. Fidel Edwards (WI) remains the only bowler to take six wickets on debut - 6 for 22 vs Zimbabwe at Harare on November 29, 2003.

# Rahman became the third Bangladeshi player to get the Man of the Match on debut in ODIs, joining Sohag Gazi and Taijul Islam.

# Tamim Iqbal (60) and Soumya Sarkar (54) recorded the second occasion when both Bangladeshi openers have posted fifties in the same innings against India - the first instance being Tamim Iqbal (60) and Imrul Kayes (70) at Mirpur on January 7, 2010.

# Shakib Al Hasan's splendid 52 off 68 balls is his sixth fifty vs India - his 29th in ODIs.

# Bangladesh reached 100 in 79 balls - their fastest 100 against a top side - their quickest against any side is 73 balls vs Zimbabwe at Dhaka on January 31, 2005.

# Sarkar and Tamim were associated in a stand of 102 - Bangladesh's first century stand for the first wicket vs India in ODIs, surpassing the 80 between Imrul Kayes and Tamim Iqbal at Dhaka on January 7, 2010.

# The pair batted at run-rate of 7.46 - Bangladesh's first century stand for the first wicket with a run-rate of six or more in ODIs.

# Both Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal have registered 19 innings of fifty-plus at home in ODIs, sharing a record on Bangladesh soil.

# Rohit Sharma's 26th half century in ODIs is his first vs Bangladesh.  He has posted two hundreds and ten fifties in a losing cause in 50 ODIs.

# Rohit's 63 is his second highest score vs Bangladesh in ODIs behind the 137 at Melbourne on March 19, 2015.

# Ravichandran Ashwin (3/51) produced his best bowling performance vs Bangladesh in ODIs.

# Shikhar Dhawan-Rohit Sharma pair has totalled 2027 runs at an average of 49.43 in 42 innings to become the third Indian opening pair to post 2,000 runs or more in ODIs, joining Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar (6609) and Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar (3919).

# Virat Kohli has not scored a fifty in his last eight ODI innings. He is averaging 30.62 in a losing cause in ODIs - his aggregate being 1623, including two hundreds and 13 fifties in 54 matches.

# Kohli has recorded six successive single-digit scores in a losing cause in ODIs 2, 9, 4, 8, 1 & 1.
