The Board of Control for Cricket in India's Annual General Meeting, including election of its office-bearers, has been adjourned two months.
A decision to this effect was taken by the Sharad Pawar and Jagmohan Dalmiya groups, which were contesting the elections.
BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla confirmed the adjournment, saying, "Yes, it [the meeting] is adjourned for one-two months."
He added that the decision was by consensus.
"A resolution has been adopted by the House. All the members were agreeable except one member from the Rajasthan Cricket Association," said BCCI president Ranbir Singh Mahendra.
"The resolution said all matters will be sorted amicably. The matters needing immediate attention will be given priority," he added.
HeĀ also said Sharad Pawar and N Srinivas have been included in the Board's marketing committee.
The move to include Pawar in the cash-rich committee is seen by many as a compromise formula.
Mahendra also confirmed that he did receive an e-mail for India coach Greg Chappell, but maintained it is confidential.
"I will put it up in the review committee meeting in Mumbai on the 27th [of September]," he said.
"I am disappointed that a confedential letter has been leaked to the media. Ganguly has been dividing the team and sowing the seeds of indiscipline in it," he added.
Earlier on Friday, the Calcutta high court stayed the appointment of the two additional observers for the elections and directed that Justice Suhas Chandra Sen would be the sole observer for the poll.
Hearing a petition, filed by BCCI president Ranbir Singh Mahendra and the Karnataka State Cricket Association, a division bench stayed Justice Soumitra Sen's order of Thursday, appointing K N Singh and M M Punchi, former Chief Justices of India, as additional observers.
The bench, comprising Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghosh and Justice N C Sil directed that Suhas Chandra Sen, who was appointed by the same judge would be the sole observer and act according to the order of September 21, whereby, he was appointed sole observer.
Suhas Chandra Sen is a former Supreme Court judge.
Regarding the time and schedule of election, the bench said that the observer would decide on it.
The bench said that a prima facie case has been made out by the petitioner, BCCI president Ranbir Singh Mahendra and the Karnataka Cricket Association.
The bench also observed that Suhas Chandra Sen had not got a chance to perform, yet two additional observers were subsequently appointed.
It said that Thursday's order of appointing two additional observers could not reflect a correct reason to interfere with the previous order of appointing a sole observer.
There has been no allegation against the sole observer, even then the additional observers were appointed, the bench said.
