Two years after the death of his first wife Jane, former Australian pacer Glenn McGrath is all set to walk down the aisle once again after getting engaged to his Italian girlfriend of seven months Sara Leonardi.

glenn mcgrathJane died following a long battle with breast cancer and two years after the tragedy, McGrath got engaged to Leonardi, a 28-year-old interior designer, last week.

"We are engaged and we're really happy," McGrath told the Herald Sun newspaper.

The 40-year-old cricketer's manager Warren Craig also confirmed the news: "They got engaged about a week ago. Glenn and Sara haven't spoken to any (magazines). There has been no story told or anything like that, and they're not planning on speaking to anybody about the engagement."

Leonardi has been snapped wearing a diamond engagement ring presented by McGrath while out walking with him and his two children, ten-year-old James and eight-year-old Holly, near their south Sydney home.

Leonardi met the former Test cricketer at a party in Cape Town in 2009 while he was playing for the Indian Premier League team Delhi Daredevils, sparking a friendship that blossomed into love later in the year.

McGrath, still raw from the death of his wife Jane, said he never believed he'd fall in love again but Leonardi changed all that.

"After Jane passed away, I never thought that I could love another woman. I was adamant about that. But I am in love with Sara, totally and completely and absolutely," McGrath said when his relationship with Leonardi became public earlier this year.

"I think marriage is definitely in our future. I can't picture life without her," he added.

Jane, who married the bowler in 1999, passed away on June 22, 2008.
