Legendary West Indian commentator Tony Cozier has passed away at the age of 75. Cozier had been admitted in a hospital in Barbados and was said to be in a critical condition.

Winston Anthony Cozier was born in July 1940 in Barbados. An icon in international cricket commentary, Cozier was widely regarded as the voice of West Indian cricket.

Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Tony Cozier today," the ICC said on Twitter. "One of the truly great voices of cricket. A huge loss for the cricket community."

Although he never played international cricket, Cozier opened the batting for two local Barbados clubs Wanderers and Carlton.

Cozier is said to have covered almost every cricket series involving the West Indies series since 1962.

He has donned many hats during his lifetime, and is one of the most respected cricket writers, broadcasters and historians from the Caribbean.

"So so Sad ... Forget all the Great players .. Tony Cozier was the reason I loved West Indian Cricket ...#RIPTony," tweeted former England captain Michael Vaughan.
