Anil Kumble scalped two wickets as Surrey handed out an innings and 107 run thrashing to Worcestershire in a division two county championship match at Grace Road with a full day to spare.

The Bangalore leg-spinner accounted for tailenders Matt Mason and Nadeem Malik as the hosts were shot out for 165 in their second essay on Thursday after conceding a 272 run first innings lead.

Kumble had earlier put Surrey in a strong position with five first innings wickets which resulted in Worcestershire being bowled out for 304.

The advantage was capitalised upon by the visitors for whom Mark Ramprakash, Jonathan Batty and Ally Brown scored hundreds to take the team's score to a massive 576.

In the Worcester second innings, skipper Vikram Solanki was the only batsman to offer a semblance of resistance with a fighting 56. Gareth Batty remained unbeaten on 37. Zaheer Khan contributed nine after taking three wickets in Surrey's only innings of the match.

The wreckers-in-chief for Surrey were Pakistan seamer Azhar Mahmood who claimed four wickets for 53 while leg-spinner Ian Salisbury snared three victims for 37 runs.
