Indian Test captain Virat Kohli has thanked his growing fan base, which has taken his twitter following to 8 million.

The 26-year-old batsman, who recently enjoyed his first Test series win as captain after leading India to a 2-1 victory over Sri Lanka, saw his following on twitter grow to 8.01 million and the Delhi boy was quick to acknowledge the love of his fans.

"8 Million Followers! Absolutely Delighted. Thank You everyone for the immense love! #Grateful," Kohli wrote on his twitter handle (@imVkohli).

Interestingly, cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar has 7.73 million fans following him on twitter while ODI skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has 4.52 million twitter followers.
