South African all rounder Jacques Kallis will not return to England in time for the second Test match against England, which starts at Lord's on Thursday, a South Africa spokesman said on Tuesday.

Kallis attended the funeral of his father, Henry, in Cape Town on Monday and indications were strong that he would rejoin his team mates in time for the second Test.

"Jacques will not be here, that is certain," South Africa's media manager Gerald de Kock said. "He is intending to rejoin the tour at some time, possibly in time to play in the warm up match against Kent after the second test.

"But as the management have said all along, there is no pressure on him. The decision is completely his and he must take as long as he needs," De Kock said.

Kallis returned to Cape Town immediately after the one day final against England on July 12 to be with his father who was suffering from lung cancer.

Easterns all rounder Andrew Hall, who played in the SA one day team but was released to play for Worcestershire when the Test series began, has been recalled to the squad and will join up with his team mates on Wednesday in time for training at Lord's on Wednesday afternoon.
