England all rounder Ronnie Irani could face disciplinary action after squirting water over a spectator during Saturday's match against Australia.
Irani was involved in a heated argument with a fan who leant over the boundary fence to hurl abuse at the player as he left the field with the rest of the England team at the end of the Australian innings.
Irani walked over to the fence and came within a metre of the fan, who was being restrained by a security guard, before squirting water from a bottle at him.
Australia won the match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground by five runs to clinch the best-of-three finals series 2-0.
Former West Indies captain Clive Lloyd, the match referee, is yet to make any comment on the incident. Irani took 3-46 in the match but was out for seven when he batted.
England leave Australia next week for the World Cup in southern Africa.
