A public interest litigation seeking direction to initiate an inquiry into money laundering and match-fixing in the Indian Premier League was filed in the Karnataka high court on Tuesday.
The matter was adjourned and will come up for hearing on Wednesday.
The petitioner, senior advocate S Vasudev, has also sought direction to relocate the IPL semi-finals back to Bangalore from Mumbai while terming the decision to move the matches from the city as unfair and malafide.
He states that there is no transparency in the IPL, and too much political interference and betting has made the game polluted.
He further claimed that there are many violations, which include betting and money laundering.
Seeking a CBI probe against IPL chief Lalit Modi, he said the issue must be dealt with an iron hand and the guilty punished.
