Gautam Gambhir has said Kolkata Knight Riders' trust with its players once they get picked in auction or from other means is one of the main reasons for the franchises good run in Indian Premier League (IPL) in which it has won titles in 2012 and 2014.

"I always believe in giving a lot of security to players. When you pick someone you pick someone with a lot of trust and stick with that someone. We don't chop and change," the KKR captain said.

"If someone does not perform for one year we don't send him back into the auction or release him. We are I think the only franchise that does not release a lot of players.

"We have allowed people to make mistakes. I think may be that differentiates us from others."

Gambhir also made it clear that there will be no change to the team's mental approach to the game against Mumbai Indians on Thursday.

"We are professional cricketers, want to play well and win games for KKR. KKR should be remembered for what they do on the cricket field and not for anything else," he said. IPL has made younger Indian players bolder in their approach to the game, he noted.

"The attitude has gone up. Youngsters don't fear anything. It's good for Indian cricket and a great exposure when you play against quality players.

"The quality of cricket is also tough. I don't know about other leagues, but the quality in IPL is tough," he said emphatically.
