It was the heavy dew in Bangalore that led to the recurrence of Virender Sehwag's back problems as the senior opener didn't field in the last three overs of the RCB innings and hence couldn't come out to bat during the 'Super Over' chase.

"Yesterday evening was cool and there was a lot of dew. This led to the recurrence of Viru's back problem. Suddenly there was a lot of stiffness in his back and he was unable to stand on the field. There was no other option but to send Pawan Negi as the substitute fielder," a member of the Daredevils support staff said.
Asked about Sehwag's chances of playing against Chennai Super Kings, the source answered, "As of now, he is available for selection."
Although Sehwag's absence during Super Over is being held as one of the reasons for Daredevils not being able to score the required 16 runs, the team think-tank doesn't consider the batsman to be a 'Super Over' batsman on current form.
"In Super Over, the field is spread out and only four guys are allowed inside the circle. On current form, it is difficult to bet on Sehwag being a sure shot success in do-or-die situation like 'Super Over'.”
