The tag of favourites always increases the pressure: Sehwag

May 02, 2012 09:00 IST

Having set a record by notching up five consecutive half centuries in T20s, Delhi Daredevils skipper Virender Sehwag hoped that he can carry on his good form towards the business end of the tournament.

"I believe I am lucky to have scored five 50's in a row.

"Hopefully, I will be able to carry on this good form till the end of the tournament," Sehwag said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

Virender SehwagAsked about his team's form, Sehwag said that he doesn't want the tag of favourites and would be rather happy to be termed as a "good competitive side."

"The tag of favourites always increases the pressure. But credit to the support staff as they have helped us perform.

"Today, I thought about playing the last XI and the coach insisted that we pick Pawan Negi as the pitch was low and slow in nature.

"Negi bowled brilliantly."

Rajasthan Royals captain Rahul Dravid conceded that they played "poor cricket".

"This was the first match in the tournament where we played poor cricket.

"Now we have lost four matches in a row and we need to bounce back. We had a good start and we thought 180 was a par score.

"But we lost too many wickets. We played poor cricket."

Dravid was all praise for young Ajinkya Rahane.

"Rahane was terrific again. He is getting us starts.

"If we had got Viru out early, I though we stood a chance, but he is in terrific form.

"Though it hurts, he is good to watch."
