IPL: Lasith Malinga surpasses RP Singh

Following is the statistical highlights of the Indian Premier League match between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab.

# Munaf Patel's aggregate of 17 wickets at an average of 14.35 in eleven games is the second best in the IPL 4. 

# Aiden Blizzard has taken three catches in Punjab's innings - the first Mumbai fielder to accomplish the feat in the IPL 2011. 

# Blizzard became the fourth fielder to take three catches for Mumbai Indians in the IPL, joining Sachin Tendulkar (4), Abhishek Nayar and Robin Uthappa. 

# 22 extras, conceded by Mumbai Indians is the highest in the IPL 4, surpassing the 19 conceded by Kolkata in Rajasthan's total of 159 for four off 20 overs at Jaipur on April 15. 

# Munaf Patel (5/21) has recorded his career-best bowling performance in Twenty20 - his first instance of five wickets in an innings. 

# Patel has become the eighth bowler to capture 50 wickets (20.46 in 41 matches) or more in the IPL. 

# Patel is one of the three Mumbai bowlers to capture five wickets in an innings in the IPL, the other two being Malinga and Harbhajan. 

# All three Mumbai bowlers have bagged five wickets in an innings in the fourth edition of the IPL. 

# Adam Gilchrist became the first wicketkeeper to effect 15 stumpings in the IPL. 

# Gilchrist has extended his record for most dismissals - 44 (29 catches + 15 stumpings) in 56 matches. 

# Bhargav Bhatt (4/22) has produced his best bowling performance in Twenty20 - his first four-wicket haul. 

# Bhatt's performance is the best by a Punjab bowler in the IPL, eclipsing 4 for 29 by Paul Valthaty against Deccan  at Hyderabad on April 16, 2011. 

# Bhatt has got his first MoM award in the IPL. 

# Munaf Patel has become the first bowler to record a five-wicket haul in a losing cause in the IPL. 

# Punjab's magnificent 76-run victory is their largest by runs margin in the IPL, bettering their 66-run victory over Mumbai at Mohali on April 25, 2008. 

# Mumbai have suffered their largest defeat in terms of runs in the IPL. 

# Lasith Malinga is the first bowler to claim 25 wickets in an IPL competition - 26 at an average of 9.61 in eleven games.

# Malinga has set a bowling record for most wickets in the IPL history, capturing 59 at an average of 15.35 in 37 matches, surpassing RP Singh's tally of 58 at 25.82 runs apiece in 53 matches. 

# Eight instances overall have been registered of five-wicket hauls in the IPL.  Sohail Tanvir is the only one to take six wickets in an innings - the other four being Amit Mishra, Anil Kumble, Ishant Sharma and Lakshmipathy Balaji. 

# Mumbai Indians (87 off 12.5 overs) have posted their lowest total in the IPL, eclipsing the 94 for eight off 20 overs against Rajasthan at Jaipur on April 29, 2011. 

# The total is the lowest posted by any team against Punjab in the IPL, outstripping Delhi's 111 at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi on April 11, 2010. 

# Shaun Marsh (324) has completed his 300 runs in the IPL 4.  His aggregate is the second highest for Punjab, behind Paul Valthaty (359). 

# Marsh became the only Punjab batsman to average 50-plus in the IPL (1087 at an average of 51.76, including one hundred and ten fifties, in 25 matches). 

# After losing eight consecutive tosses in the IPL, Sachin Tendulkar has won the toss against Punjab. 

# Ambati Rayudu has completed his 1000 runs in Twenty20, amassing 1005 at an average of 27.91 in 39 matches. 

# Punjab have won five and lost three out of eight played against Mumbai in the IPL - success % 62.50. 

# Punjab have won four and lost six out of ten played in the IPL 4.
