Delhi Daredevils all-rounder Irfan Pathan draws inspiration from his elder brother Yusuf and hopes to follow the explosive right-hander's footstep when it comes to power-hitting in cricket matches.
"I hope to do the same thing (power-hitting) as well. The amount of entertainment Yusuf provides I don't think anyone else can match. Some of the shots he plays are outstanding and if I can match that I would be more than happy," Irfan told reporters on the sidelines of a promotional event.
The younger of the two Pathans said he hoped to replicate the performance of Yusuf, who made a 26-ball 47 for Kolkata Knight Riders against Deccan Chargers.
"Hopefully, my parents will also be praying for me when I'm on the ground," he said ahead of Daredevils crucial IPL match against Deccan here tomorrow.
"I'm certainly looking for better performances and its going to happen. There has been some improvement with my bowling and batting so far but I will like to do more. The more balls I face and more balls I bowl, I am going to get better and better.
"If I keep playing well and do what I am best at, performance will automatically come," said the left-hander.
On the match against hosts Deccan, Irfan said, "The game would be an interesting contest. Both Deccan Chargers and Delhi haven't done that well. We want to make sure that we play really well against the Chargers.
"Obviously, we haven't done well as a team so far in the IPL this season. There are still five more matches to go and if we play well in all these matches and win, we can still qualify," he added.
