For a change, it was a complete team effort that won the match rather an individual or two.
Chennai Super Kings halted Mumbai Indians' winning run with a convincing 24-run victory in the Indian Premier League, in Chennai, on Tuesday.
After Mumbai's bowlers had restricted Chennai to 165 for four in their 20 overs, it looked like they would chase down the runs pretty easily on a good batting wicket and dew hampering the bowlers.
But Chennai's bowlers did not lose hope. Helped by Mumbai's reckless batting display, they gave their side an unexpected victory.
The turning point of the match though was when Sachin Tendulkar had to retire ill after suffering from dehydration.
Tendulkar walked back to the dressing room in the ninth over with the score on 62 for one after nine overs.
But in the space of a few overs, the match had changed dramatically as Mumbai lost six wickets for 27 runs in the space of 32 deliveries.
Sudeep Tyagi got the big wicket of Dwayne Bravo, caught at long-off for two, while Shadab Jakati snapped up the in-form Saurabh Tiwary for 14.
When Tendulkar had retired ill, the score read 62 for one after nine overs and when he came back his team was reeling at 89 for seven after 14.2 overs.
The Mumbai captain returned and tried to win the match in the company of the tailenders, but it was not his day.
His energy reserves were completely drained on a hot and humid day in Chennai before he holed out Thilan Thushara to the long-on fielder for 45.
In the end, it was Chennai's splendid display with the ball coupled with some good catching by their fielders that made the difference.
