Injured Sohail's departure dents Pak's chances to bounce back against SA

February 12, 2013 09:20 IST

Pakistan cricket has suffered a setback to its hopes of making a comeback to international cricket in the Test against South Africa.

The departure of injured middle order batsman Haris Sohail to Pakistan further weakened an already fragile middle order.

Haris SohailSohail’s injury is a huge blow for the team management and coach Dave Whatmore, The Nation reported.

According to the paper, Pakistan should have replaced Sohail with inform left-hand batsman Umar Amin. Amin has the potential to bat both as an opener and as a middle order batsman.

Pakistan’s fragile middle order consists of out-form Younus Khan, Azhar Ali, Misbah-ul-Haq and Asad Shafiq.

The paper urged the PCB and the team management to go with Faisal Iqbal as he had scored a lot of runs in domestic cricket.
