India name experienced squad for U-19 World Cup

India has named their 30 member squad for the U-19 World Cup which will be held in August in Australia and New Zealand. They have the maximum number of players --- nine-- who have already played first-class cricket.

The said players are Unmukt Chand, Manan Vohra, Akhil Herwadkar, Kumar Deobrat, Aparajith Baba, Sandeep Sharma, Ravi Singh, Vikas Mishra and Chirag Khurana.

Australian pace bowling sensation Pat Cummins and talented West Indies opener Kraigg Brathwaite are the two Test cricketers who feature in the list of provisional squads announced by their respective countries.

After recovering from his injury, Cummins had recently played for Australia U-19 in a four-nation tournament held in Brisbane couple of months back. Brathwaite, meanwhile is playing for West Indies A in a home series against India A.

The other notable international player would be Irish left-arm spinner George Dockrell who has played 28 ODIs including the senior World Cup, last year.

India  (Provisional squad): Unmukt Chand, Aparajith Baba, Indrajith Baba, Harmeet Baddhan, Prashant Chopra, Sandipan Das, Kumar Deobrat, Hanuman Gade, Nikhil Gangta, Akarshit Gomel, Akhil Herwadkar, Mayank Jain, Rush Kalaria, Chirag Khurana, Vikas Mishra, Aksh Nath, Kamal Passi, Akshar Patel, Smit Patel, Alok Pratap Singh, Shubham Ranjane, Moshin Sayyad, Sandeep Sharma, Shubham Sharma, Gopal Shreyas, Ravi Singh, Sanju Vishwanadh, Manan Vohra, Kuldeep Yadav and Vijay Zol.
