Congratulate Tendulkar on his 50th Test ton

India's master batsman Sachin Tendulkar became the first player ever in the history of Test cricket to hit 50 centuries during day four of the first Test match against South Africa at SuperSport Park in Centurion on Sunday.

Tendulkar, playing in his 175th Test, reached the milestone off 197 deliveries as he took a single on the offside off Dale Steyn.

Sachin TendulkarThe 37-year-old brought India back from the dead. India were reeling at 277 for six at one stage before he and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni scripted a spectactular comeback and gives India hopes of saving the Test match.

20 years ago, Tendulkar had scored his first century when he hit 119 against England at Manchester in 1990 aged just 17 and two decades later he still continues to haunt bowlers.

This year alone, he has scored seven centuries, including two double tons, in 13 Tests.

Ricky Ponting is a distant second with 39 centuries followed by South Africa's Jacques Kallis, who is third with 38 centuries.
