Who are India's most valuable players?
At the conclusion of the Asia Cup, Srinivas Bhogle and Purnendu Maji make an assessment after 36 matches India has played so far in the 2013-14 season.
Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami continue to be India’s best bowlers, while Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni are the best batsmen.
There's a problem, though, with the team.
Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina aren’t looking to be good enough batsmen, while Ravichandran Ashwin and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are dropping off as good bowlers.
It is a puzzle why Cheteshwar Pujara and Amit Mishra aren’t in the mix; indeed the bigger puzzle is why the Indian selectors don’t want to really look beyond their favourite playing eleven.
