Moin Khan asked to explain casino night out

Last updated on: February 23, 2015 16:29 IST

Pakistan's misery continues to escalate in this World Cup. Now, chief selector Moin Khan is in the dock for a casino night out with his wife after the team's defeat against the West Indies on Saturday night.

According to eyewitness, Moin's wife had cash and was playing almost every game in the casino.

Team manager Naveed Cheema reported the incident to Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Shaharyar Khan; the board expects Moin Khan to submit a proper explanation.

The Pakistani team has been struggling with in-fighting and other disciple issues, which seems to be affecting their performance in the World Cup.

‎The fact that Moin Khan is accompanying the team has become a subject of criticism in the Pakistani media.

The ICC pays for the 18-member squad of every team. Khan, who is not part of the squad, is travelling as an extra member. The PCB has been accused of spending Rs 5 million on his trip.

There were reports of that the PCB chief was not keen on sending Moin Khan for the two ODIs in New Zealand and to the World Cup.

However, Moin Khan, who is a apparently a close associate of former chairman Najam Sethi -- Sethi is apparently running the show as the head of the executive committee of the PCB -- got his tour endorsed‎.
