Australian players saved their best performance until the end of the tournament after beating New Zealand by seven wickets with more than 16 overs to spare in the World Cup final on Sunday.

The Aussues surely know how t let their hair down and they were led by their wives and girlfriends who have been at their side in this gala tournament.

Australia skipper Michael Clarke announced his retirement from one-day internationals on the eve of the seven-wicket victory at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday, which earned his country a fifth world title.

Clarke, 33, took time out to grab a kiss form his beautiful wife Kyly.

The moment Steve Smith (56) hit the winning runs, the entire Australian team was out on the ground celebrating the very special achievement.

It was a touching sight to find all his teammates standing at the boundary line to greet him.

Australia's explosive batsman David Warner has credited his partner for helping him mature as a person, but more importantly, as a batsman. With iron woman Candice Falzon by his side, the dashing opener set the tone of the tournament.
