Mahendra Singh Dhoni surpassed former skipper Sourav Ganguly as the most successful Indian captain in terms of ODI victories achieved on foreign shores.
The four-wicket victory over the West Indies in the cricket World Cup in Perth on Friday was Dhoni's 59th, while Ganguly had 58 under his belt.
The current India captain played a key role with an unbeaten 45-run knock against the West Indies, helping the side to a hard-fought victory at the WACA.
Under his leadership, India won the 2007 World T20 and 2011 World Cup at home, besides the Champions Trophy in England two years ago.
He was also at the helm when India achieved the number one Test rankings.
