Former Australia captain Ian Chappell has slammed Shaun Marsh's topsy-turvy batting statistic in Test format by comparing it with former fast bowler Glenn McGrath's poor batting records.

The 32-year-old's attempt to resurrect his international career dealt a severe blow when he ran himself out for two on day two of the day-night Test against New Zealand at the Adelaide Oval on Saturday by Brendon McCullum.
Marsh has been dismissed for four or less on 12 occasions, including seven ducks in his 28 Test innings.
"That's Danny Morrison and Glenn McGrath territory," Chappell was quoted as saying.
McGrath had collected 35 ducks during his 124-game career and had averaged 7.36 in batting.
