Hafeez denies reports of bowling with 'illegal action'

September 13, 2015 19:25 IST

Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has denied the reports of him bowling with un-remedied bowling action in the National T20 Cup.

Dismissing the reports, Hafeez tweeted, "Been working on my bowling action from the last 9 months in NCA with coaches & analysts..Inshaa Allah will come back SOON in action."

Earlier, a major website had reported that Hafeez has not corrected his bowling action, which was declared illegal by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in July, the Dawn reported.

The 34-year old lashed out at the cricket website for their reports, saying 'irresponsible reporting was done at its best'.

Earlier, ICC official confirmed that PCB has permitted the bowler to bowl in domestic cricket and added that it would be an opportunity for him to be reassessed for international cricket after being monitored.

Hafeez was handed a ban by the ICC twice for an illegal bowling action , firstly in December 2014 which later got cleared in April 2015 and second in July this year after Pakistan's Test against Sri Lanka at Galle. (ANI)
