Ganguly cleared to play against Pakistan

Last updated on: November 12, 2004 17:23 IST

India skipper Sourav Ganguly cleared the fitness test and will play the Platinum Jubilee One-Day International against Pakistan in Kolkata on Saturday.

Team physio Andrew Leipus cleared Ganguly for the one-off match after assessing his fitness during a nearly three-hour practice session on Friday morning.

"I'm playing tomorrow, I am fit," Ganguly told reporters later.

Ganguly had declared himself fit last week and played a Ranji Trophy match for Bengal, but the selectors insisted he would play only if he cleared an official fitness test.
