Despite the humiliating defeat to England in the second Test in Mumbai, India preferred to go into the third Test in Kolkata with an unchanged squad.

Bengal pacer Ashok Dinda, who was added as cover for injured Umesh Yadav before the Mumbai Test, was retained.

The selectors, who met in Mumbai on Tuesday, also retained off-spinner Harbhajan Singh despite a below-par showing in Mumbai and refused to be swayed by calls to rest batting ace Sachin Tendulkar, who aggregated just 63 runs in two Tests against New Zealand in the previous series, and underperformed in the first two Tests against England, scoring of 13, 8 and 8 in the three innings he was required to bat.

Join Harish Kotian on Rediff ZaraBol at 1800 IST and discuss the selection. Should the selectors have included a leg-spinner at the cost of Harbhajan? Should Tendulkar have been rested?
