England to make decision on Flintoff

February 27, 2009 12:34 IST

England will make an announcement on Friday about whether injured all-rounder Andrew Flintoff will return home from the tour of the Caribbean.

Flintoff is not playing in the fourth Test in Barbados after suffering a hip injury during the drawn third Test in Antigua last week.

"I think there will be some news," England captain Andrew Strauss told reporters on Thursday after the first day of the fourth test.

"Obviously, he is continuing his rehabilitation and I think there will be some news on him later."

Following the fifth Test in Trinidad from March 6-10, England are due to play a Twenty20 game and five one-day internationals.

Ravi Bopara and pace bowler Amjad Khan were drafted into the England squad after Flintoff's injury and the former was named in the side for the fourth Test.
