The prevailing tense situation between India and Pakistan might have affected the preparation of the Jammu and Kashmir for the Ranji Trophy but skipper Parvez Rasool exuded confidence that his team has enough time to make up for the loss.

"Everyone knows that we never had a camp this time," Rasool said after their day one's proceedings in the Group C match against Kerala at Bengal Cricket Academy ground.

"As a team I feel we are a bit short on practice. But that's fine. We have enough time in our hands to make up for this. The more matches we play the faster we would overcome this. We will be fine."

Kerala rode on an unbeaten 129 by Sanju Samson to finish the day on 263/7 against Jammu and Kashmir who opted to bowl.

"The bowlers did well and not felt that we were new to bowling today. I hope the batsmen also click on this track," Rasool said.

Giving details about their preparation, he further said, "We had two days practice after coming here. I was playing Duleep Trophy so my preparation was fine. The rest were preparing on their own, after all we all are professionals. We have to do it."

Jammu and Kashmir media manager Rajesh Dhar, however, was guarded in his reaction and said, "All is well with team. Our preparation was much more affected because of flood earlier."
