India's one-day team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni might not be setting the cricket field on fire these days but it does not affect his brand value.

The Jharkhand government has offered the player to become the brand ambassador of his native state.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Madhu Koda on Thursday said the government wanted Dhoni to promote the state.

"We have requested Mahendra Singh Dhoni to take up the responsibility of promoting our state for its economical growth and better national-international identity," Koda said on the sidelines of a function in New Delhi.

The Jharkhand government had recently honoured the new youth icon by conferring on him Jharkhand Ratna after Dhoni lead Team India to T20 World Cup triumph.
