The former New Zealand skipper was expecting that the team would be fined, but the verdict by the Lodha panel had surprised him very much.
The 42-year old said that the franchise message was they were prepared for the punishment, but they are a little surprised by the severity, Stuff.co.nz reported.
Fleming said that he is still on contract, but it is now a case of wait and see, adding that he did not know whether the franchise would include him or not.
