- 'I will make my daughter feel that I am her dad and spent time with family.'
No one can deny that Mahendra Singh Dhoni has a sense of humour and one got a taste of it at the post-match presentation after the completion of the third One-Day International in Harare on Wednesday when he was asked about the long forced break that he will have post the ongoing limited overs tour of Zimbabwe.
Dhoni will be next seen in action in October during the limited overs leg of the home series against New Zealand.
"I think after a long time, I will take some time off cricket after this series (three-match T20I series vs Zimbabwe). Don't think my daughter (15-month old Ziva) still recognizes me. I will make my daughter feel that I am her dad and spent time with family," the skipper said with his tongue firmly in cheek, after the completion of the third ODI.
On a serious note, he was satisfied with the effort put in by the bowlers, who dismissed Zimbabwe cheaply in all the three ODIs -- 168 (49.5 overs), 126 (34.3 overs) and 123 (42.2 overs) respectively -- and then chased down the total with consummate ease to whitewash the hosts 3-0.
"I think the execution has been really good, and that's the key factor. The fast bowlers and the spinners have taken wickets at some point of time and put pressure on the opposition, so I am happy with the bowling performance," Dhoni said after the match.
"I don't mind winning games easily, that's what you are supposed to do. It would have been nice if a few of the other batsmen would have had a break."
