Pace bowler Nathan Bracken has been named ahead of legspinner Stuart MacGill for Australia in the first Test against West Indies beginning on Thursday.
MacGill, who combined with Shane Warne to take 15 of the 20 wickets in Australia's 210-run victory over the World XI last month, has been released to play domestic cricket.
Left-armer Bracken joins a four-pronged pace attack led by Glenn McGrath and Brett Lee in the match at Brisbane's Gabba ground. All-rounder Shane Watson is the fourth pace bowler in the side with Warne the only specialist spinner.
