Opener Hamish Marshall's unbeaten 76 and Upul Chandana's four-wicket haul enabled Royal Bengal Tigers score an eight-wicket victory over Lahore Badshahs in the Indian Cricket League T20 encounter at the Lal Bahadur Shastri stadium in Hyderabad on Sunday night.
Chasing a target of 140, Marshall played a fine innings from the beginning and went on to score 76 runs, including two sixes and nine boundaries off 53 balls.
He received strong support from opening partner Deep Dasgupta, who scored 20 runs off as many deliveries, and Craig McMillan (35), whose six and three boundaries helped in snubbing the Badshahs.
The Badshahs could not contain the onslaught of the Tigers though they did run-out Abhishek Jhunjhunwala when he was on 3.
Earlier, Sri Lankan Upul Chandana restricted the Badshahs to 139 for 6 in 20 overs. He took four wickets, which included skipper that of Inzamam-ul Haq, in four overs.
For the Badshahs, Imran Farhat (37) and Shahid Yousuf (32 not out) were the only batsmen to make an impression.
Farhat's 37 included four boundaries, while Yousuf knock had two sixes and three fours.
Earlier, Inzamam won the toss and elected to bat. The Tigers picked two points from the match.
