Following the Supreme Court on Friday, the Board of Control of Cricket in India secretary Ajay Shirke has written a letter to Justice Lodha Panel asking for clarification in the issues related to broadcast rights for the Indian Premier League.

The invitation to tenders (ITTs) are slated to be opened on Tuesday (October 25).

The top court on Friday also asked the Lodha panel to appoint an independent auditor to scrutinize BCCI’s accounts and also to fix a limit on the financial transactions of the cricket board.

"We have to finalise the broadcast rights for the IPL. The invitation to tenders (ITTs) are slated to be opened on Tuesday.

"Now that a new independent auditor will be appointed and the Committee’s nod is required for all new contracts above a fixed limit, I have sought clarifications on whether we can go ahead with the process or stop it. And if the independent auditor will be present at our meeting,” Shirke told The Indian Express.

Moreover, with less than four days to go for the open bidding process and left with no clarity in the wake of the Supreme Court order, the prospective bidders have asked for the date of open bidding process to be postponed from October 25.
