The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Cricket Australia (CA) announced the schedule for the forthcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy during the months of February-March 2017.

Australia will play a four-match Test series in India.

Ranchi and Dharamsala have been allocated their first Test matches with the third and fourth Tests held at these venues respectively.

Australia were whitewashed 4-0 by India in their last tour of the country.

The three centres which had hosted One-day Internationals and T20 Internationals in the past - were accorded Test status last November.

All these three centres, incidentally, are the home turfs of BCCI president Anurag Thakur, secretary Ajay Shirke and
joint-secretary Amitabh Choudhary respectively.

The allocation of matches to new centres is aimed at restoring the rotation policy for Tests.

India are scheduled to play 13 Tests, 8 ODIs and three T20Is in the current home season.

Here's the complete schedule –

First Test: Feb 23-27, 2017; Venue: Pune

Second Test: March 04-08, 2017; Venue: Bengaluru

Third Test: March 16-20, 2017;  Venue: Ranchi

Fourth Test: March 25-29, 2017; Dharamsala.
