Stuart BinnyThe selection meeting to pick the Indian team for the Test series in Australia next month has been postponed, the Board of Control for Cricket in India said on Tuesday.

"The meeting of the All-India Senior Selection Committee to pick the Indian team for the last two ODIs of the ongoing series, and the side for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Australia, has been postponed," read a statement from BCCI secretary Sanjay Patel.

Interestingly, chairman of selectors Sandeep Patil and his four colleagues, including Roger Binny, Vikram Rathore, Saba Karim and Rajinder Singh Hans, met at the BCCI head office in Mumbai but no reason was given for postponement of the meeting.

However, the selectors made one change to the Indian squad for the ongoing five-match ODI series against the visiting Sri Lankans.

"Varun Aaron is injured, and he has been replaced by Stuart Binny in the Indian team for the second and third games of the Micromax Cup India vs Sri Lanka ODI Series 2014," the statement added.

Aaron had to leave the field in pain after bowling the first ball of the 13th over, forcing Virat Kohli to complete the over.

Binny last played an ODI in June, in Bangladesh.

The second match of the India-Sri Lanka series is on Thursday, in Ahmedabad.

The selection meeting for the Australia tour is now likely to be held on November 10.

It is learned that the naming of the squad for the Australia series was put off so that some players can have more time to regain fitness and make themselves available for selection.

The four-Test series kicks-off in Brisbane on December 4 and the remaining matches will be played in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney.
